December 17, 2008: Our mascot "Caroline the Cow" was taken from our property. She is a 4x8 plywood painted cow, with green eyes. Our family is very upset. Please make our Christmas and return her to us. Please call if you have any information on her location. Thank you.

Taylor Brooke Winery awards its 1st Annual Scholarship

July 2008: Richard and Linda Auger, owners of Taylor Brooke Winery in Woodstock, CT have established an annual scholarship of $500 to be awarded to a graduating senior from Woodstock Academy. Qualifying seniors must be planning on entering the field of agriculture. This can include: viniculture, horticulture, agronomy, landscape architecture, botany, food science, forestry, environmental science, etc. After reviewing three very qualified candidates, the $500 scholarship was awarded to John McCarthy of Pomfret, CT. Mrs. Bridges Under New Ownership

July 30, 2008: Pamela Spaeth of Woodstock and Susan Bradbury-Swenson of Brooklyn are the new owners of Mrs. Bridges Pantry. They purchased the business from the originators, Veronica Harris and Diana Jackson. Per an August 1, 2008 article in the Villager Newspapers, Spaeth said they will launching a brand new website where customers can make online purchases. They will also be doing a Tea of the Week. She recommends that first-timers try scones and clotted cream.
